Is Chartering a Yacht Truly All-Inclusive?

The allure of the open seas has beckoned travelers for centuries. Now, with the growing popularity of yachting vacations, there's been a surge of interest in understanding what truly is "all-inclusive" when chartering a yacht. As we sail into Spring and Summer of 2023, Envy Yacht Charters invites you to explore a myriad of destinations—from the azure waters of the Caribbean and the historical beauty of the Mediterranean to the tropical paradise of Fiji/South Pacific. Before we set sail, let’s demystify the concept of all-inclusive yacht chartering.

The All-Inclusive Concept

At the heart of an unparalleled yachting experience with Envy Yacht Charters is our promise of "all-inclusive". What does that mean? Simply put, it’s a worry-free vacation where your yacht comes with a seasoned captain, a gourmet chef, and depending on the size of your group, additional crew members. From three scrumptious meals a day, a full bar stocked with your favorite drinks, to an assortment of water toys and snacks, every detail is meticulously catered to ensure an unforgettable experience.

The APA Explained

While the term "APA" or Advanced Provisioning Allowance might seem daunting, it’s a straightforward concept. Essentially, it's an added fee—usually between 25-35% of your charter fee—that covers all your extra expenses like meals, beverages, and fuel during your charter. While this is more common on mega yachts and European charter experiences, your captain will keep a diligent track of your spending, ensuring transparency and clarity throughout your journey.

Exclusions to Remember

Every all-inclusive journey has its exclusions. On your Envy Yacht Charter, while you're indulging in the luxury onboard, remember that special wines, certain champagnes, dockage and license fees, and the customary 15-20% crew gratuity are separate. Additionally, while we strive to provide a seamless experience, travel insurance is not included in our package—although we highly recommend it, especially for summer Caribbean trips.

Duration of Charter: Flexibility is Key

While a week-long escapade (7 nights/8 days) is a typical charter duration, we understand that everyone's needs are unique. If you're pressed for time or want a shorter retreat, we offer flexibility, albeit with a “short charter penalty". Calculating this is simple: take the weekly rate, divide by six, and multiply by the number of nights you plan to charter.

Packing for the Trip: Less is More

Space on a yacht is premium, so soft-sided luggage is your best companion. Bathing suits, hats for sun protection, and cameras for capturing memories are essentials. While we have got the beach towels covered, ensure your sunscreens are non-oily. And remember, always ensure your passport is valid for at least six more months from your travel date.

Footwear Recommendations: Comfort First

While the allure of the yacht might make you want to dress up, comfort is king. Flip-flops, water shoes, or deck shoes work best. If you’re keen on exploring terrains off-deck, hiking shoes might be a good addition.

Money Matters: Stay Prepared

While most islands accept credit cards and traveler's checks, cash is king in more remote locations. Additionally, set aside enough cash to tip the diligent crew that ensures your journey is smooth.

Activities: Adventure Onboard and Offshore

With each yacht equipped with its set of activities—from snorkeling to paddleboarding—adventure is always around the corner. If your heart seeks onshore experiences like hiking, spa treatments, or golf, we’ve got you covered.

Dining: A Gourmet Delight

At Envy Yacht Charters, dining is a bespoke experience. With menus crafted around your preferences, our chefs can cater to vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free diets, or any other culinary request, making each meal memorable.

Tech Connectivity: Stay Connected

While we advocate a digital detox, we understand the need to stay connected. Most of our yachts offer wifi, but ensure you check in with your cell service provider to avoid unexpected charges.

In conclusion, with Envy Yacht Charters, the world is truly your oyster. As you embark on this unparalleled journey across the seas, you’re not just booking a vacation, but memories that will last a lifetime. Ready to experience endless beauty worldwide? Set sail with us and immerse yourself in an unmatched yacht vacation experience.
